My father taught me, he was a furniture manufacturer himself. The secret is the fact that you cannot just teach somebody to build such furniture in a few days, by giving him some guidance, you need to spend years and years working with such a professional before mastering the job. This is how I have done it!

Today, with all the furniture being made fast and with cheap materials, plus that it needs to be built light to be easily moved from one place to an other, it is not easy to lean these techniques and secrets anymore, since nobody spends time building them anymore, everybody buys materials almost in a ready to be used state and just cuts them and put them together. It seems that there is no difference between a baby exersaucer and a furniture piece.

A few things to think about when buying a roll top desk

Custom desks, painted and refurbished, for children

Di you ever see painted rolltop desks? It is very interesting to see them. They don't have the color of wood but they are colored to whatever color the manufacturer wanted.

I have seen a few a couple of weeks ago in a small store, made by a local manufacturer taht wanted to make a few fun to watch desks for children. I can tell you that the one that I was immediately in love with was a blueish one with a lovely tint.

That piece of furniture was the most beautiful I have ever seen and nothing compared to it. There was also a green one there that was very appreciated by the audience and at the same time by the manufacturer himself who was very connected to it, said it was an old refurbished roll top desk of his grandparents that he managed to bring back to life after a long and hard work.

A few days ago I have payed some thinking to the furniture my grandparents had at home and you know what really came to my mind? The old roll top desk that my grandfather had on his office.
